Math is FUN!

Math is super-duper triple chocolate amazingly important in life because you'll need it to keep count of your money!

You need to know when you buy something that you are giving a person $1 instead of $100.

For now, my class and I are doing the final touches on our division, decimals, and multiplying chapter. It's actually pretty fun because Mrs. Matsuura lets us talk to the people on our table if we need help so it will be better than 1 million kids at her desk asking for help. We also get to use this bright septor stick and teach the class different ways to solve and check math problems. It’s like we are the teacher because we have to explain how we got our answer and explain with a lot of details. Sometime we get the answer wrong but we try our best and encourage each other.

Lastly, we just recently had a division lesson from Mrs. Matsuura’s husband Mr. Nouchi and it was funny because he got the answer wrong just from him subtracting wrong. It was so funny because he kept on laughing! Even though it was wrong, his method was helpful because we used graph paper for our long division and it made us write neater and place numbers on the correct place value.

So now you know a little more about what we do for 6th gr. in Mrs. Matsuura's class. Hope you enjoyed this blog!!
