“Go! Slow! Whoa!"

 “Go! Slow! Whoa!"

Are you having a hard time thinking of healthy food choices?

Are you also concerned when you don't know if certain foods are healthy or not to eat? Well, you are reading the right article!

This article will teach you how to organize your food choices and will also help you eat right!

First of all, we were very lucky to have Presenters from St. Francis to come and teach us about Healthy nutrition. Ms. Frazier, Ms. Jose, and Ms. Lei came to teach us valuable information about choosing the right foods to eat.

They created this program called “Go, Slow, and Whoa." It is suggested from the U.S National Heart, Lung and blood Institute for the kids to think about the kinds of food choices we make.

First of all, “Go foods” are foods that are good to eat almost anytime. This is the healthiest ones, such as skim and low-fat milk, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Next, "Slow foods". These foods should be eaten sometimes. They aren't off-limits, but they shouldn't be eaten every day. At most, you eat them a couple times a week, such as waffles, pancakes, and white rice and fruit juices.

Then, "Whoa foods". These foods should make you say exactly that- WHOA!!!! These foods should only be eaten on special occasions. If I were you I wouldn't recommend you to eat too much of this because it is obviously unhealthy or least healthy and most likely to cause weight problems, especially if they eat more than usual. That is why “whoa” foods are eaten on special occasions such as your birthday. Examples include deep fried fries, deep fried onion rings, and even fried fish!

In conclusion, the “go, slow, and whoa” program will definitely be a great reminder to keep yourself prepared and organized when eating.
