Everybody knows about the book of the month at
our school!
The book of the month is a book our principal, Mrs. Hirota picks
out for us for each month.
Each class gets the book then their teachers
read their book to the students. The students do an activity that usually has to do with the theme of the story.
They could do a response to literature. They can also do a game, art piece, or
maybe even a book review! Either way, they are all fun and interesting! Each
book showcases an IB learner profile or attitude.
This BLOG relates to the IB learner profile, communicator. Why? It’s because students have to share their thoughts, opinions, and ideas.
The book of the month for October is called Uncommon Traveler. It is about a woman who finds a place to live with vicious animals. She lived in a place where she didn’t fit in when she was little. She finds out that the swamp with animals is her home because she finally feels like she’s home.
