DRA'S!

D-R-A-S what do they stand for? Developmental Reading Assessment!

Introduction
Have you ever wondered what reading level you are at? Well, you are in luck. You should do DRAs!

DRAs are your leveled books. If you just started, then you start from the beginning. Your teacher will assign you a certain type of book to read. First he/she would tell you to read it by yourself. The second time gets trickier. You try not to make any mistakes while reading. Your goal is to read fluently, so your reading level can go up. You read up to the little mark and stop. Your teacher will tell you to make predictions. After you are done, you show your predictions to your teacher so you can move on. She will approve you to move on and tell you to read the whole story by yourself. After you are done reading you will use your book's information to answer your questions. If you are not done, don't worry! Your teacher will give you time the next day-Mrs. Matsuura wants us to take our time and do our best!

After you are done questioning, you hand the book and answers to your teacher. Your teacher will tell you what your reading level is after she is done grading your work. It will also go in your report card too.

DRAs show the IB learner profile Knowledgeable. Knowledgeable means you explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance. In so doing, they acquire in- depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines. The DRAs show the IB learner profile knowledgeable because you answer the questions and visualize what is happening in the book. Also you predict what is going to happen next.

In conclusion if you didn't try DRAs, then you should try and see what leveled book you are on. Thank you for reading this and see you next time!!!!(^0^)!!!!
