2nd Quarter 6th Grade Celebration

Did you make it to the End of the Quarter celebration? We sure did!

The End of the Quarter Celebration is something that the whole 6th grade does. It is for the students that behaved and did all of their work during the whole quarter. It is also for the kids that are cleared of checks and strikes.

Checks and strikes prevent you from doing anything fun (End of the quarter/year celebrations, etc.). When you don't do your homework or didn't complete it, you get a check. If you get 5 checks, you get a strike. Getting a strike is really bad because again, you can't do anything fun. To get rid of 1 CHECK you have to first, complete the work that you didn't do, second, you have to do 3 EXTRA Teenbiz or IXL's. It is really hard to get rid of 1 check, and we all think that if you just do your work without having teachers and parents nagging at you to do it, then you should be fine!

Now enough, of the serious talk. Let’s get into what we did for the celebration. For every celebration, we do something different. Last quarter we played volleyball and this time we played......................BASKETBALL!! It was really amazing and had us pumped up and energized!

Since, we have a lot of students in this grade, we had to compromise and find a way to allow two games to go on at the same time. The teachers thought that we should half the court so that on one side the boys play a game and on the other side, the girls play a game. Even though we had a small amount of space to play a game, we still had a lot of fun!

There was a stiff competition between each class. Anyways, for the girls, there was a lot of height and speed within students. Some were REALLY TALL, some were REALLY FAST, some had GREAT AGILITY. It was a very interesting mix, but I think that that is what makes a great game!

It was such an amazing experience and I hope that next quarter will be like that too! Again, thank you for reading and please stop by again, for more amazing events and more! Thanks again!

Hi, my name is Dhaydren. My favorite hobby is playing football.  I like to eat spaghetti. Also my favorite color is blue.

I am here to talk to you about the 2nd quarter 6th grade celebration. People can only go if they don’t have any old catch up work or STRIKES. The people who had strikes had to in a six grade class and do work for 2 hours while the other people got to have fun.

The celebration started at 10:30 and ended at 12:00.We got to play basketball. After that we got to shoot around for about 10 minutes. I think that it was fun.

When we played basketball it was 5 boys against 5 boys. The class that made it to the championship game for the boys were Ms.Coffin and Mrs. Infiesto’s class. The championship games for the girls were Mrs. Matsuura and Mrs. Infiesto’s class.

We still have two more celebrations coming up including the Polynesian Cultural Center. The IB attitude that you need to be is responsible. In order to participate in school celebrations, you need to be responsible and ear it.  You need to be done with all your work and you need to be caught up with everything with no strikes. This is why you need to be responsible.
