Spelling Bee
Have you ever had a spelling bee? If not, I will tell you what it is.
Have you ever had a spelling bee? If not, I will tell you what it is.
I will also tell you how it might feel like. This will
also help all 5th graders if they will go to the 6th grade Spelling Bee. If you
want to know more, read on.
First of all, a spelling bee is some type of
contest where you are given a word to spell. If you spell the word right, you
are still in the game. If you spell the word incorrectly, you are out. Also,
you can ask to repeat the word. You can also ask for the definition of the
word. Finally, you can ask for the word in a sentence. These three things will
help you better understand the word and also help you spell it. It may feel
frustrating while in a spelling bee because some words might be really hard.
Overall, these are some things about a spelling bee and how it might feel like.
During a spelling bee, you need to be Thinkers.
One reason why you need to be thinker is because when you are given a word, you
might have to use what you know to try and spell a word. Some things that you
can do is sound a word out or to put a word into syllables. You also have to be
thinkers because if you don't know a word, you might have to think of what
letters make more sense when you spell. These are the reasons why you need to
be thinkers during a spelling bee.
Finally, I will tell you about the spelling bee
that we had today on January 15th. During the spelling bee, there were about 25
students participating. It was challenging because some words weren't taught to
us yet. Also, sometimes we forgot how to spell some words so we would have to
sound it out.
Erika's Parents stopped by!
Overall, this 2nd quarter spelling bee was fun but also
challenging. Now you know what a spelling bee is and how feels like.
