Reporting live from Keone’ula Elementary School
Interviewer: Mr. Nouchi, Mrs Matsuura’s husband
Interviewee: Samantha
Think about this, who is best student in the school? You
probably thought it was YOU eh...it’s the leaders of the school, the student
council. Who better to ask about pressing issues at the school then the
president, Samantha Bacalso? I came up with a small questionnaire to see what
being the president is all about.
What are your duties as president?
“My duty as president is to be a
good role model so that my peers will know what it looks like to portray all of the IB learner profiles and attitudes. Some other duties I have are to lead the school and run
student council meets.”
What is on the agenda to change the school?
“The first thing of concern is to
change up the school lunch menu to bring variety and cultural styles to our
students.”
Why did you become president?
“I wanted to be president because I
wanted to make a difference and I thought that it would be fun.”
If you had one wish for the school what would it be, if
money or rules didn't apply?
“If I had one wish to change the
school I would allow free Ipads for every kid and more recesses.”
If you were on a deserted island what 3 books would you
bring?
“If I were stranded on an island I
would bring Diary of a wimpy kid, Dork diaries, and a book on rabbits.”
What does the president do on the weekend?
“On the weekend I like to swimming
and relax.”
In conclusion, it’s not easy being the president, but with
the guidance and care from the leadership in this school I think that Keone’ula
Elementary School will continue to survive for the highest,---Kulia I ka nu’u!
Blurb About Mr. Nouchi (Mrs. Aimee Matsuura's husband)
Since I work for Pearl Harbor, I'm currently on furlough for a few days. Mrs. Matsuura begged me to come and meet her students that she keeps bragging about. I admit she's right--all the kids in H102 are so well behaved and good kids. I like to eat--it's my main hobby. I especially like to try new places and be a risk taker. I also love fishing, going to swap meets, and finding good deals.
